Grandma's Recipes: Part Two

Spanokopita:
It was my goal over winter break to learn some of my grandmothers famous recipes. So I spent the day at her house cooking up some of my favorite things, spanokopita and broccoli balls being two of the best.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs of frozen spinach (cook and drain as given on package)
1/4 cup of fresh dill
1/2 lb feta cheese
1 tb spoon of nutmeg
dash of Parmesan cheese
several pinches of nutmeg
5-6 sheets of buttered filo dough

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes (or until golden brown)

Light of My Life

As of recently I have been completely fixated on shoes, particularly heels. Shoes used to be the last item in creating an outfit on my mind, but recently it has become the first and I now revolve my clothes around my shoes. There are so many unique shoes out there that can make an outfit stand out from everyone else.
These two shoes I recently acquired on sale from anthropologie (the booties) and free people.

Grandma's Closet

There is nothing I love more when I am home from school than to go through my Grandma's closet. Over the years she has developed an amazing collection of clothes, shoes, and bags. One of my favorite pieces of hers is the very patriotic dress shown above.

The dress is by a designer named Anne Fogarty. Sadly she passed away in 1980 and the brand was not carried on. The peak of her clothing label was from the 1950s through the 1960s. She become most well known for her glamorous version of the lbd (little black dress).

One of my favorite parts of my grandmothers dress is the mod design on the bottom sweep of the dress. I think it creates such a unique pop, but still remains cohesive to the design of the rest of the dress. I am hoping a have a fun party to attend on July 4th this year so I can have a reason to wear it!
